Reminders

Parent Volunteers
If you are a regular helper in the classroom, please check with your class teacher to confirm if you are needed at school next week - timetables tend to change for the last week of the term. Thank you for your continuing support – it is greatly appreciated by all the staff and the children you work with.

Last day of term
Friday 27th March is the last day of term. It is a mufti/no uniform day and the children may wear their own clothes to school - but no football kits please! School will close early on this day, and we are staggering dismissal to ensure the children can be collected promptly. Nursery & Reception will be dismissed at 1:20 pm; Years 1 & 2 at 1:25 pm, and Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 at 1:30 pm. Tree Tops will run just one full session from 1:30– 4:30 pm and this can be booked through ParentPay as normal.

Transfer to Secondary School
If your child is in Year 6 and intends to take up a place at an independent school for Year 7, please let the school office know. At the start of next term we will begin the transition process which includes the transfer of your child's records so it is very important that we know your child's destination.

School Lunches

Lunches for the first half of the summer term will be available to order through ParentPay from the end of next week. Culinera have a new menu to select from and you can view it here. Please remember to order for the first day back after the Easter break by 8:00 am on Monday 13th April. If your child brings a packed lunch, please ensure it is healthy and strictly nut-free. Children should not bring sweets or chocolate as a snack.

End of termThis is the last school newsletter of the spring term. The term isn’t over just yet, and next week we look forward to Parents’ Evening on Wednesday and Thursday, and our annual Easter Bonnet Parade on Friday. We hope that you have a well-deserved break when it arrives and look forward to the children returning on Monday 13th April, rested and ready for the exciting summer term we have planned!

Don't forget that school closes at 1:30 pm on Thursday 26th March for children in Reception to Year 6, with Parents' Evening appointments starting at 2:00 pm. School will also close at 1:30 pm for all children, including Nursery, on Friday 27th March - the last day of the spring term.

The school office will close at 3:00 pm on Friday 27th March and reopen on Monday 13th April at 8:00 am. Over the Easter break, emails to the office will be monitored remotely and urgent queries responded to as necessary.

Parents Evening Don't ForgetParents' Evening

The booking window for Parents' Evening has now closed. If you haven't made an appointment, please contact the school office as soon as possible. If your child has a SEN Review, the Inclusion team will have informed you of the date and time - you do not need to book a separate Parents' Evening appointment.

Don't forget that school closes at 1:30 pm on Thursday 26th March for children in Reception through to Year 6, with Parents' Evening appointments starting at 2:00 pm. Nursery will run as normal until 3:25 pm and Tree Tops will run from 1:30 pm until the usual finish of either 4:30 pm or 6:00 pm.

Red Nose Day 2026Thank you!

Thank you for taking part in Red Nose Day today and supporting our fundraising for Comic Relief. Our JustGiving page will be open for a few more days if you would still like to make a donation - we will let you know what we've raised together as soon as we can. A huge thank you to everyone who showed their support by wearing red, and to the Year 6 children for selling red noses and collecting donations at drop off and pick-up last week.

Eco Schools LogoGreat Big School Clean!

The Great Big School Clean is back! Join the nation's biggest mass action campaign, which takes place from 13th to 29th March 2026. Our Eco-Committee is asking all our families to go on a litter pick between now and the end of the month (if you don't have a litter picker, you can borrow one from school!). All children who participate will receive a certificate to recognise how much they love where they live. Please send a photo of your child litterpicking to the school office with 'The Great British Clean' in the subject line. Photos will be shared and certificates awarded during celebration assembly. Tomorrow's community litter pick will be focused on tidying up our school grounds - we hope you can join us!

Tree Tops

If you plan to use Childcare Vouchers or Tax-free Childcare (TFC) payments to pay for Tree Tops sessions next term, please ensure you arrange for their transfer by Monday 23rd March. The school is closed over the Easter break and any vouchers or payments received after this date may not be processed until school reopens.

ROARROAR

The camp offers an exciting and engaging experience for every child, including large inflatable slides, bouncy castles, bumper cars, laser tag, Nerf battles, dodgeball, archery tag, team building games, sports, and themed arts and crafts. Growing up in the online world: a national consultation

The government are consulting on further measures to prepare children for the future in an age of rapid technological change. This includes potential age restrictions on social media and other services such as gaming sites and AI chatbots, restrictions on addictive design features and risky functionalities, and better support for parents and families. They are calling for parents and carers to share their views through this survey. The survey will be open until 26th May.

Book of the Week

Autistic Brain‘My Amazing Autistic Brain’ by Emily Snape

Jai is autistic. They’re on their way to a party at school, but they also want to introduce you to some of their friends and share their specific autistic traits. There are plenty of picture books with neurodivergent characters and some children may relate to some of their traits, and there are lots of books explaining autism to adults, but this book beautifully explains a rainbow variety of autistic traits including challenges and strengths, and is pitched directly at young children.

This is a charming and engaging story but also a valuable resource for autistic children, their parents and teachers.
